Here on Sengoku, we allow members to take over pretty much whatever they have the balls to attempt to take over this is done by a show of martial might. This is usually used to take over unclaimed lands, however, the bolder can attempt to take a land that is controlled by a Daimyo or even take control over villages by performing a coup. The way to take over a nation is to simply fill out an application for a special thread. Once it is done anyone who wants to can challenge you once you make the thread with the village head of that village participation being mandatory, and while these threads are usually Death Enabled that does not mean that someone has to die. The thread will be the individual or a group of people teaming up either setting up a base of operations to establish their own village or taking over an already established village. Daimyo who control the land and nation will be controlled by a staff member and will either meet with the ninja(s) responsible or get attacked by them (in which case staff will NPC two ninja bodyguards of A rank for each PC within the invading party) if the Daimyo is attacked and not peacefully met only PC's can participate in the battle on the opposing side and the NPCs the staff control will be based on Ninja from the Naruto show.

In order to take an unaffiliated nation the special threads requirements need to be finished and a staff member will judge to see if the thread is acceptable enough to take control of the nation and gain the Daimyo's favor and support in establishing a hidden village within their lands, though this will only be done if the thread was fought against an NPC if the thread was against another PC then the winner will always gain the nation. Alternatively, the ninja could attack the Daimyo and gain full control over the land with an intense fight if the fight is won those involved will always gain the nation.

In order to defend a nation, the village leader of the said nation will need to reply to the initial takeover post within three days (though special circumstances could extend this) after three days the one challenging could either wait longer or declare the nation theirs within their next post. If others from that nation's hidden village or simply ninja of the country join the thread then the battle will be between them. though the village leader or nation leader can join the thread anytime so long as the declaration has not been made. What this means is that after three days of not responding if another shinobi(s) entered the fray then the nation/village leader can jump into the thread at the end of that fight and fight to defend their village.

Village/Nation leaders are responsible for their make up. What this means is that they determine (beforehand and ICly) the defenses of their village or nation (though if just a village leader you have no control over the entire country just your village and the surrounding land due to having support from the Daimyo) as well as the lore of said village/nation. Whenever something happens within the village/nation that changes anything within whether it is a building being destroyed or someone building something the staff should be notified, we will then place it on the side tables. The defensive set up for the village should also be mentioned in a general defense thread that will be stickied within the board for their respective village(s) (If the village leader has not done so just assume the most basic defense I.E. a cement wall surrounding with a gate and two chuunin gate guards).

This can extend to even jutsu and abilities used by ninja and even reservations. To do this is simple one would need to either kill the one with the jutsu/ability or skill that you are looking for and keeping the body for oneself in order to do research on. This requires a certain skill set as one would need to be an accomplished medical ninja, or have some kind of gene/DNA or cellular research and manipulation special ability. If your character does not have these traits they could always find someone who does that is willing to work with them. After this, there would be a special training thread in order to cultivate and obtain said abilities. Once the abilities are granted it does not mean that the ninja with them will be instantly able to use them and would require training to use (as it would start at E rank level. Also, death is not always required but without killing the user they would need to be kidnapped and experimented on. Also, items can just be stolen in any thread the items are used in.
